Students in the North Colonie Central School District had an increased police presence at school on Friday. This comes after a social media threat against Shaker High School was reported to the district’s superintendent.
Dr. Joseph Corr sent a letter to parents Thursday night, letting them know he was aware of rumors circulating on social media about an individual threatening violent attacks at Shaker High School. He immediately contacted Colonie police.
The police department investigated the threat, and found it was not credible.
However, the increased police presence was still there to provide extra safety and security.
