Injured trooper from highway shooting is also a firefighter
We are learning even more about Trooper Albert, the New York State police officer that was shot Friday on I-88 during a traffic stop.

He has been with the New York State Police for more than 21 years and is an assistant chief with the Cobleskill Fire Department.
We also heard from a previous volunteer firefighter who worked with Albert.
They said, “Rick is a family man. He’s one of those who always puts the needs of others ahead of his own. It’s easy to see why he moved up the ranks at Cobleskill Fire Department and why he’s a NYS Trooper. He wears his heart on his sleeve.”
