Troy apartment fire under investigation

The Troy Fire Department is investigating a fire at Valley Green Apartments.

Troy Fire Chief Eric McMahon says the fire started on the second floor at about 7:30 p.m. The cause is still under investigation.

Because the scene is so large — at 25 Morrison Ave. — McMahon said, the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control is helping with the investigation.

McMahon said they had to call in every off-duty firefighter to keep the rest of the city safe while crews battled the flames. Fire crews say there were no injuries.

It’s unclear how many residents were impacted.
