National Guardsman injured in chopper crash has setback in recovery
The Rensselaer High School graduate who was severely injured in a National Guard helicopter crash a little over a month ago has had a setback in his recovery.
Jacob Pratt was hurt when the chopper went down in Texas on March 8 near the U.S.-Mexico border.
Pratt is still recovering in the ICU at a Texas hospital.
Pratt has developed a fever that doctors suspect was caused by pneumonia, his family said.
Because of this, doctors had to insert a chest tube. The family said this will prolong Pratt’s stay in the hospital.
The family asks for prayers for Pratt as he continues his recovery.
Two other soldiers from the Capital Region, Casey Frankoski and John Grassia III, were killed.
