January trial set for man accused of stabbing ex-girlfriend in HVCC parking lot
A trial has been scheduled in January for the man accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend in the parking lot of Hudson Valley Community College last year.
Zymeir Walton is facing attempted murder charges in the Nov. 3, 2022 incident. Police said he followed the woman to her car and then stabbed her multiple times. He then allegedly pushed her out of the car and drove away.
Walton is claiming self-defense, saying he was attacked first.
Both Walton and the victim are HVCC students and had a prior relationship. She had severe injuries but survived the assault.
A trial has been scheduled in Rensselaer County Court for Jan. 8.
