Man admits to child sexual abuse
A Johnstown man faces potentially life in prison after admitting to sexually assaulting a child.
John J. Lyman Sr., 37, pleaded guilty on Monday to predatory sexual assault against a child.
Lyman was arrested in February 2023 after a Johnstown Police officer on patrol on West Montgomery Street observed suspicious activity in a car parked at the end of the street. The officer observed Lyman assaulting the child in the car.
Lyman is scheduled to be sentenced on May 17 at 10:30 a.m. and faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
