Kuczynski drops appeal in Saratoga Springs DPW race

The interim Saratoga Springs public works commissioner is now dropping a possible appeal that would help them possibly to keep the seat.

The interim Saratoga Springs Public Works commissioner is dropping a possible appeal to keep the seat.

Democrat Hank Kuczynski sent a statement on Monday, saying the expensive cost to mount an appeal precludes him from moving forward.

This ends the months long battle to decide who is the city’s next public works commissioner.

“It has been an honor and privilege to serve as the Commissioner of Public work for the City of Saratoga Springs,” the statement read. “I wish the best to the department’s hardworking employees who are the backbone of the City, and to the incoming administration.”

Republican Chuck Marshall walked away with more than 1,700 votes to win the race.
