Large fire in Amsterdam under investigation
A massive house fire in the Town of Amsterdam is under investigation.
Fire crews were on the scene on Route 67 in the area of Truex Road in Hagaman by 11:45 p.m., where they found a house fully engulfed in flames.
Several fire crews were called to help battle the fire.
The Hagaman Fire Chief tells us everyone inside the house made it out safely and no one was injured.
Crews cleared the scene around 5 a.m. Saturday, and then returned at around 9 a.m. when the fire rekindled because of debris falling into the house.
The American Red Cross says they provided emergency aid to three people following the fire. This aid included financial assistance, which can be used for necessities like shelter, food, and clothing.
Red Cross volunteers also offered emotional support and comfort kits containing personal care items.
