It was a very special visit for a dog that’s melted Capital Region hearts.

Lavender the dog remains at the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.

She’s the abandoned dog found in Schenectady last month with her ear cut off.

Schenectady Police, Animal Control and the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society all visited her recently. They said Lavender greeted them with “tail wags and trust.”

Basean D. Brooks, 31, of Schenectady was arrested in connection with Lavender’s abandonment. However, no one has been charged with her actual abuse.
