Students at South Glens Falls High School will be busting a move Friday and Saturday for the South High Marathon Dance.
The 20 recipients who will benefit from the dance include Aiden Rodriguez, 7, who is battling brain cancer and lives in Washington County.
After years of noticing irregularities with his speech and walking, Aiden was finally diagnosed with brain cancer in September. He spent his 7th birthday in the hospital, recovering from brain surgery.
Aiden had surgery to remove part of the tumor, then another surgery, and four more. There’s also been stem cell treatments in Rochester.
Aiden came home on Wednesday after more than a month in Albany Medical Center. Though he still has a long road ahead of him, he will be able to attend the dance with his family.
It’s been an expensive journey for the Rodriguez Family. They’re headed back to Rochester soon for high dose chemotherapy.
Meantime, they hope to soak in the love of a caring community.
