The chief of the Thomas Corners Fire Department was involved in a crash when responding to the scene of the Glenville explosion.

Police said he was heading north on Maple Avenue with his lights and sirens on. A car that was ahead of him heading in the same direction tried to turn into a driveway as the chief was trying to pass.

The chief crashed into the car and three people inside were injured.
