Plans were underway to lift the long-term detour on State Route 2 in Petersburgh Thursday.

The detour, a little more than a half-mile, had been in place since June as part of a project to replace the State Route 2 bridge over State Route 22.

Work on the project will resume in the spring, with lane closures on State Route 2 and State Route 22.
