Louisiana military base renamed for World War I hero from Albany

Fort Polk in Louisiana has officially been renamed Fort Johnson.

This is to honor of the African American World War I hero Henry Johnson of Albany, Sen. Chuck Schumer said.

This change comes after Congress authorized the naming commission to provide new names for IU Military bases and other installations originally named after confederate leaders.
