Another movie theatre in Albany is closing at the end of the month.

Madison Theatre made the announcement on its Facebook page, and they confirmed to NewsChannel13 that it is officially for sale.

Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan sent out a statement saying the Madison Theatre sat empty and unused for many years before she became mayor.

It has since been bought and fixed up by Trinity Realty.

The last showing will be Monday, February 25.

Sheehan says she will “continue working with Trinity Realty and the businesses along upper Madison Avenue to ensure this Pine Hills gem is sold to its next great steward.”

The Theatre says their “staff is our first line of defense, and we wouldn’t be what we are without them. They are The Madison’s foundation, and they should be praised for their unwavering loyalty, dedication and love.”
