The communities of Malta and Stillwater are growing. Thanks in part to the expansion of GlobalFoundries. However, with growing, comes pains.
Malta-Stillwater EMS is answering more calls than ever – 45% more calls over the last 10 years. They’re doing it with fewer EMTs and paramedics.
They’re often stretched thin, answering mutual aid calls that other area ambulances don’t have the people to get to.
Malta-Stillwater EMS Executive Director Scott Skinner pointed out that police, fire and garbage are considered essential services, but EMS is not.
