Man, 47, arrested in Cohoes on weapon-related charges

The Cohoes Police Department says they arrested Jermaine Brown, 47, of Troy on several weapon charges on Thursday.
Police say they were conducting a traffic stop around 3:35 a.m. in the area of Saratoga Street and Bridge Street. The backseat passenger of the vehicle, later identified as Brown, left the vehicle and fled on foot.
Brown was arrested and found to be in possession of 12.9 grams of crack-cocaine. Officers say they also located a loaded Rock Island Armory Black 0.38 Special Revolver gun.
Officials say Brown was charged with the following:
- Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon (loaded firearm)
- Second-degree obstructing governmental administration
- Second-degree criminal use of a firearm
- Third-degree criminal possession of a weapon (previous conviction)
- Fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (narcotic drug)
- Resisting arrest
Cohoes Police say Brown was arraigned in Cohoes City Court and remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility.
