Man accused of firing shots at Saratoga Springs police station having mental health evaluation
The Malta man who police said fired at the Saratoga Springs Police station is set to undergo a mental health evaluation.
Paul Trinci, 76, is accused of firing shots at the station on the night of Feb. 7. He then led police on a chase that ended in the parking lot of Market 32 in Malta.
No one was hurt, and no officers fired their weapons.
Trinci appeared in Saratoga Springs City Court on Tuesday. They are awaiting the results of the evaluation.
Trinci is facing a long list of charges, including first-degree attempted assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree criminal use of a firearm, second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree reckless endangerment, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful fleeing from a police officer, DWI, reckless driving and traffic violations.
He is due back in court on May 13 at 9:45 a.m.
