Man allegedly threatened to kill person during Halfmoon domestic incident
A Bronx man is accused of threatening to kill a person during a domestic incident.
State Police responded to a residence in Halfmoon on Jan. 5 around 11:50 p.m. after receiving a 911 call. A man, later identified as 35-year-old Shaheem L. Morris, could be heard in the background allegedly threatening to assault another person.
Police said Morris pushed the victim. Two children were present during the incident. When the victim attempted to call police, Morris allegedly threatened to kill the person if the call was made.
When troopers arrived, police said they found Morris holding the infant and refusing to put the child down, turn them over to a family member or cooperate with the investigation. Morris was arrested.
The baby was turned over to a family member and not hurt.
Morris was taken to Albany Medical Center after being injured while resisting arrest, police said.
He was charged with aggravated family offense, menacing, criminal mischief, obstructing government administration, resisting arrest, harassment and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Morris had been previously convicted of a felony offense in the last five years.
He was arraigned in Halfmoon Town Court and sent without bail to Saratoga County Jail.
