Man arrested after two Albany Police cruisers crashed pleads not guilty in unrelated case
The man arrested during a domestic incident in which two Albany police cars crashed was in court on Monday for a different case.
Rahmel Carter, 38, was arraigned in Albany County Court on charges of aggravated unlicensed operation and driving while intoxicated. The alleged incident took place in August 2023, according to the court calendar.
Carter was also arrested this past September. Four officers had injuries after crashing into one another at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Quail Street back on Sept 18.
They were on their way to a call for backup at a domestic in the area of Slingerland Street and Second Avenue. Two officers on that call were exposed to cocaine.
Carter pleaded not guilty in this case and was sent back to Albany County Jail. He is due back in court on Dec. 23.
