Man dies after crashing into Mechanicville school bus

A man has died after a crashing into a Mechanicville school bus.

Jacob Granberg, 23, hit the bus around 7:15 Monday morning, said investigators, when he crossed into the other lane on state Route 67 near George Thompson Road. The bus then hit another car.

Granberg was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other car was taken to Albany Medical Center and is expected to be OK.

The bus driver and the four students on the bus were not seriously hurt.

“The school bus driver saw what happened, there was nothing at this point he could do. Luckily, the kids on the bus were not injured. My thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family,” said Saratoga County Sheriff Michael Zurlo.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
