Man dies after single car crash in Colonie
A man is dead after his car went off New Loudon Road State Route 9 near Boght Road and crashed.
The accident happened at around 3:08 a.m. Sunday morning, Colonie Police said.
The 2022 Subaru, driven by 36-year-old Zacharie Lecuyer of Altamont, was traveling south on New Loudon Road when it crossed over the median lane, through the north lanes, and onto the grassy shoulder.
The car hit a street sign, a driveway embankment, a tree, and eventually caught fire before stopping in the yard of 1121 New Loudon Road.
Colonie EMS attempted to save Lecuyer but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
New Loudon Road between Boght Road and Old Loudon Road was closed to traffic for around three hours but completely reopened at 8:25 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation.
