One person charged in deadly Albany stabbing

Albany Police have identified the man found dead in a street on Monday morning. Another person was charged with manslaughter.

Ashley Mowatt, 33, stabbed Donnell Lewis, 41, in the neck, investigators said.

It happened around 5 a.m. Monday, during a fight at Commerce Avenue and North Manning Boulevard.

Mowatt left the scene, but was later found near Central and Lexington Avenue.

Besides manslaughter, Mowatt’s also charged with tampering with physical evidence. She’s scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday morning.
