Kerdel Young guilty of murder in 2023 death of Anthony Dias.
A man was convicted of killing a Watervliet man last year.
A jury found Kerdel Young, 39, guilty of second-degree murder in the February 2023 death of Anthony Dias, 39. Young was 37 at the time of the shooting. It was the city’s first homicide that year.
The shooting happened in Albany’s Pine Hills neighborhood. Young shot Dias multiple times in the afternoon. He died at the scene.
Prosecutors said the killing stemmed from a dispute between the two men.
Young faces 25 years to life in prison when sentenced on July 15.
