Man in jail charged for violating order of protection second time, this time by sending letters

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jesse J. Klingbeil, 37, of Wilton on Friday for violating an order of protection while he is incarcerated.

Police say around 7:51 a.m. Friday, they received a report of an inmate at the Saratoga County Jail allegedly violating an order of protection by sending letters to the protected person via US Mail.

This comes after his arrest on December 9 for contacting a protected person under an order of protection via telephone on six separate occasions between November 1 and December 1.

Klingbeil is also accused of committing a specified offense under the statute of having been convicted of the specified offense within the last five years, said the Sheriff’s Office.

Officials say he was charged with first-degree criminal contempt and aggravated family offense.

The criminal contempt charge was upgraded to a felony due to previous convictions.

Klingbeil is scheduled to be arraigned at his next appearance in Wilton Town Court, and remains incarcerated in the Saratoga County Jail on separate charges pending further proceedings.
