A 61-year-old man is accused of secretly recording a person under their clothes at three separate locations in Albany County.
An Albany County grand jury has indicted Joseph Munafo on 11 counts of second-degree unlawful surveillance. Munafo allegedly used an imaging device to make recordings of the person’s private parts at the Karner Road Post Office in the town of Colonie on five separate occasions from July through October 2023, according to court documents.
Munafo also allegedly made recordings in August 2023 in the area of Columba Circle East Drive in Albany on four occasions. The other two Albany locations Munafo is accused of taking pictures are in the area of Washington Avenue Extension in August 2023 and on White Pine Drive in July 2023, the indictment stated.
Prosecutors said Munafo was acquainted with the victim.
Munafo pleaded not guilty in Albany County Court on Tuesday.
Munafo reportedly worked the Post Office. He retired in 2024, according to the Times Union, which was first to report the story.
