Man dead after crash with Troy Police car

Police in Troy are investigating a fatal crash involving one of their officers. It happened just before 1 a.m. Wednesday.
A 30-year-old man was killed in the collision with an officer who was responding to an emergency.
The crash happened at the intersection of Hoosick and 15th streets. Both of those streets were closed for several hours. They reopened around 9 a.m.
The man in the other vehicle was rushed to Samaritan Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police have not released his name.
The police officer was treated at the hospital and released. The officer expected to be OK.
New York State Police are assisting with the investigation, as well as the New York Attorney General’s Office.
