Man rejects plea deal in assault that left Albany restaurant owner in coma

The man charged in an assault that put an Albany restaurant co-owner in a coma rejected a plea deal of 20 years in prison.

Lucas Healey, 42, appeared in Albany County Court Friday, Aug. 16 to turn down an offer by the prosecutors to plead guilty to felony first-degree assault.

Healey is the suspect who was seen on surveillance video walking out of Shogun Restaurant on Madison Avenue in Albany on May 29 without paying his entire bill.

Healey allegedly attacked one of the employees that came after him. The co-owner was in a coma for many weeks.
