Man arrested for allegedly having chainsaw at anti-Trump rally

Man arrested for allegedly having chainsaw at anti-Trump rally in Glens Falls.

A South Glens Falls man is accused of revving a chainsaw at an anti-Trump rally in Glens Falls on Saturday.

Thomas Howard was charged with menacing in the second degree and disorderly conduct, according to police.

Howard was wearing a Trump shirt, and protestors said he was mocking and threatening them. He is seen on video being confronted and taken away by police. It happened on the corner of Bay Street and Glen Street.

They cheered as he was surrounded by four Glens Falls police officers. They handcuffed him, grabbed him by the arms, and walked him to a patrol car.

The event was part of a nationwide anti-Trump protest. This was just one of the hundreds of rallies across the country being called a “Day of Action.”

It’s organized by the 50-50-1 group: 50 states, 50 protests, one movement.

The goal of the Easter weekend rallies was to support Americans who have lost their jobs, been impacted by the stock market crash and felt increased stress by cost-of-living hikes.

Menacing is a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail.
