A manhunt is underway for a suspect who police say shot a Vermont State Police officer on Friday afternoon.

The shooting happened on Route 5 in St. Johnsbury which is about three hours north of Albany.

Police are searching 38-year-old Scott Mason. He is 5 feet, 11 inches tall, and weighs 220 pounds.

They say he is potentially armed and dangerous.

If anyone sees Mason, police say you should not approach him and call 911 immediately.
