Middle Grove man arrested for rape and sexual abuse

New York State Police say that the State Police of Wilton, with the assistance of the Whitehall Police Department, arrested Sean T. Devernoe, 23, of Middle Grove, NY for third-degree rape and sexual abuse on May 15.

State Troopers received information on March 2, 2024 that an adult man had sexual contact with a child.

After investigation with the Whitehall Police Department, Troopers say it was found that Devernoe had sexual contact with a child under age 17 in June 2023 while located in Wilton and Saratoga Springs.

Police say Devernoe was arrested and processed at the State Police of Wilton.

He was arraigned at the Wilton Town Court and released on his own recognizance.
