Mohawk Hudson Human Society offers ‘name your fee’ promotion to clear shelter of dogs
Mohawk Hudson Humane Society runs special probation
The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society is asking for help and making it easier to take a new pet to its forever home.
The shelter said its offices have been converted into temporary spaces for dogs as they try to manage the nonstop flow of animals. There were 146 dogs in the shelter’s care as of Wednesday, with 124 in the actual shelter, the humane society said. However, there are just 85 kennels. The facility is undergoing renovations, so space is limited for the time being.
The shelter is running a promotion during November where people can “Name Your Adoption Fee” for dogs for six months and older in the hopes of getting more of them into homes.
