Montgomery County man accused of forcible rape

A Montgomery County man is accused of forcibly raping a person.

Devin K. Sargeant, 23, of Fort Plain, was arrested after interviews were conducted and forensic tests were complete, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said.

Sargeant was charged with felony first-degree rape. He was arraigned in St. Johnsville Town Court and released on cash bail. He is due back in court at a later date.
