Montgomery County man accused of stealing sports trading cards from Target

A Montgomery County man has been arrested in an alleged scheme to steal sports trading cards from Target.
Cody S. Bender, 42, of Palatine Bridge, is accused of switching barcodes on merchandise inside the store with less-expensive items in order to take the high-end sports trading cards, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
The stolen cards were worth $1,365, investigators said.
Members of the store’s loss prevention team contacted authorities on Friday.
Bender was found at his job and arrested. He was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and released on an appearance ticket. He is due back in Amsterdam Town Court at a later date.
