Montgomery County man with five DWI convictions arrested again

A Montgomery County man convicted of drunken driving five times was arrested again earlier this month for the same crime.

Rodney S. Strobel, 50, of Fort Plain, was stopped in his pickup truck on April 14 for allegedly swerving out of his lane, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Strobel was driving alcohol in his truck, according to investigators. He failed field sobriety tests and was arrested on a DWI charge.

Strobel did not have a license. His driving privileges were revoked because of a 2012 DWI conviction. Strobel had a previous DWI conviction within the last 10 years, according to investigators.

Strobel faces several charges, including DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without an ignition interlock device and traffic violations.

He was released on an appearance ticket and is due in Palatine Court at a later date.
