The mother and son tragically killed in a Colonie fire last week were best friends.

James DeBrocky was 56 years old. According to his obituary, he was known as JJ.

He played Colonie youth baseball, loved fishing, and concerts. He was a huge fan of AC/DC.

Carroll DeBrocky was 76 years old. She was retired. She loved gardening and rescuing animals, and was very active in her church.

Funeral services for both are this Friday, April 4.

The fire started early in the morning last Wednesday in their home on Tanglewood Road.

Investigators are still looking into what caused the fire.
