The National Guard member injured in a crash in March has taken another step in his recovery.

Jacob Pratt, of Rensselaer, is scheduled for another surgery next week.

His family provided an update saying that Jacob is slowing regaining independence and is looking forward to moving to outpatient care.

NewsChannel 13’s Dan Levy spoke with Pratt’s uncle in an interview yesterday, where he said he hope that Jacob will be well enough to attend Military Appreciation Day at Saratoga Race Course next year.

The family said on its GoFundMe page that it was grateful for the community support.

“We are still in awe of the continued prayers and support we are receiving heading into the 6-month anniversary of the accident. So much has changed for Jacob and us and the families of Casey, John and Chris. Please keep sending everyone kind thoughts and continue to remember the sacrifices that have been made.”
