Nearly 200 households served in drive-thru food pantry in Albany

The Regional Food Bank, in partnership with the Rensselaer Boys and Girls Club and the Macedonia Baptist Church in Albany, hosted their first Saturday food pantry drive-thru since the pandemic.

They say the event was held in effort to meet the increased amount of people in need of food assistance.

The Food Bank adds that the Saturday distributions aimed to meet those in need who may work during the week and who are unable to attend weekday distributions.

Two drive-thru pantries were open for distribution this morning – one at Rensselaer Boys and Girls Club, and the other at Macedonia Baptist Church.

The Food Bank says next week, they will host the Thanksgiving distributions at eight different locations around the Capital Region.
