New Berkshires coffee shop honors fallen U.S. Air Force staff sergeant

A coffee shop is opening in Berkshire County to honor fallen U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant Jacob Galliher.

Galliher was killed in a helicopter crash off the coast of Japan last year.

Jake’s Java in Lanesborough is being opened by his family.

The shop will take over the Greylock Grounds location on Route 7.

This was a dream shared by Jake and his wife, his family said.

A grand opening will take place on Saturday, June 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

It will feature guest speakers, fun activities and live music.
