New York State’s First Total Solar Eclipse: What You Need to Know
Solar Eclipse Tips and Safety
In just a few months, parts of upstate New York are expecting to get a perfect view of the state’s first total eclipse in nearly a century.
The eclipse will take place on April 8th and it will be visible over cities like Buffalo, Syracuse, Rochester, Lake Placid, and Plattsburgh.
In Buffalo, totality is expected from 3:18 p.m. to 3:22 p.m.
On Saturday, Friends of Five Rivers Environmental Center held a meeting, which the keynote speaker shared details about the solar eclipse.
They advised people to make sure their eyes are safe during the event and to ensure your eclipse glasses are coming from a reputable source.
