The cause of an apartment fire in Gloversville is under investigation.

The fire started around 9 p.m. Tuesday evening at 16 Addison St.

There were heavy flames on the front porch, all the way up to the second floor, according to firefighters.

All nine people living in the home were able to escape safely, along with three cats and two snakes. However, a cat was killed.

The Red Cross is now helping the people who lived there.
