Niskayuna couple shares ‘spicy’ secrets to 61-year long marriage

Larry and Nancy Feldman have been married for the past 61 years. Their recipe for a strong relationship might be surprising.
The two met in college back in 1959, and got married four years later.
“We are always holding hands,” said Larry. “If you see us out on the street or in Macy’s, and we are not holding hands, it’s probably not us.”
However, it’s more than just hand holding. The Feldmans are a pretty fierce duo on the pickleball court. They never shy away from a fancy cocktail. They’re also fans of a little annual event in Florida known as, “Fantasy Fest.”
The Feldmans are in their 80s, but the pair is never afraid to get out and live a little on the edge. Larry demonstrates that perfectly as an adult romance author. His book, “Hookups, Hiccups, and Happenstances,” is a sizzling example.
“The book is about the sexual revolution; spicy stories from the 1960s and 1970s,” Larry said. “It was either a book on basketball, or a sexy, spicy book. I said, ‘How many people are going to read basketball books versus spicy books?’ So, I want the spicy route.”
How does Nancy feel about her 85-year-old husband writing adult novels? She’s his biggest supporter.
“If he’s happy, I’m happy,” said Nancy. “You know how they always say, ‘if the wife is happy, the husband is happy, the family is happy?’ If the husband is happy, I’m happy.”
The happiness and love Larry and Nancy share has thrived for more than 60 years, and is likely to continue for many more.
