North Colonie schools start with new schedule

Kids are back to school in the North Colonie School District. They’re the last in our area to start school this year.
This year, the North Colonie School District implemented scheduling changes for the start of the school year.
Shaker Middle School is going to start an hour earlier. Their start time will be around 8 a.m.
A problem they had in the past was students were getting home late in the afternoon. This made it challenging for students to get extra help and participate in extracurricular activities.
Before, buses would go out and take home all the high school kids, then they would come back and get all the elementary school students.
Kids are back to school in the North Colonie School District. They're the last in our area to start school this year.
They would then have to come back to a central location on Route 155 and disperse all those students.
