Gov. Kathy Hochul has announced more than $13 million in funding to help build the Adirondack Rail Trail.
Gov. Kathy Hochul has announced more than $13 million in funding to help build the Adirondack Rail Trail.
That money will support ongoing work to construct the 34-mile track between Tupper Lake and Lake Placid.
It will create a multi-use corridor for outdoor adventurers, according to state leaders.
The portion of the trail from Lake Placid to Saranac Lake was completed last month. That part is currently open for snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.
When the project is completed, the trail will be open all year and free of charge.
