One dead in head-on crash on Wolf Road

One person is dead in a head-on crash on Wolf Road in Colonie.

It happened around 1:45 p.m. just south of Sand Creek Road. Colonie Police said it appears that one vehicle was traveling north before crossing over into the southbound lanes and colliding with the other vehicle.

The driver of the southbound vehicle was taken to a local hospital with apparent minor injuries, police said.

The northbound driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The identification is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Police are investigating.

The road was closed in both directions for around two hours.
