One-hundred bike riders met at the Impact Athletic Center in Halfmoon on Friday morning to kick off the annual Ride for Missing Children.

The ride raises awareness about missing children’s cases, where bicyclists travel through Saratoga County, making stops at schools.

The tradition started 30 years ago. Riders will stop by schools along the way to talk with kids and take pictures as well as sign jerseys. Participants will also ride by other schools as they teach students about child safety and abduction prevention.

This is one of the most important things they do all year, riders said.
