One person dead after crash in Niskayuna

One person is dead after crashing into a tree.

It happened just after 7 a.m. Tuesday near River Road and Whitmyer Drive. The vehicle then caught fire.

Bystanders pulled the driver from the vehicle. However, the driver was pronounced dead at Ellis Hospital. Their identity is being withheld until family is notified, police said.

They added no one else was in the car.
