ONLY ON 13: Suspect identified in case of cinderblock thrown through club’s window

Troy Police have identified a suspect they said threw a cinderblock through the window of a local fraternal club around three months ago.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Christopher M. Regan, 40, of North Greenbush, police said.

NewsChannel 13 has been following the case since the Fraternal Order of Eagles posted a picture of the incident on their Facebook page. It happened on Jan. 11. Video footage showed a man getting out of a pickup truck and throwing the huge stone block at the Fifth Avenue building. He then gets back in the truck and leaves the scene.

Troy Police Deputy Chief Steven Barker said investigators are not sure about his motive. Investigators learned that he was friends with at least one member of the club and had a dispute or some type of frustration with the organization.

Regan is being charged with second-degree criminal mischief. He will be in Rensselaer County Court on a later date.

North Greenbush Police assisted in the investigation.

Regan is currently in Saratoga County Jail for a different case, Barker said.

State Police said a trooper saw a vehicle stopped on the shoulder of the Northway in Clifton Park on April 18 around 6:50 a.m. Regan was asleep inside the vehicle.

Troopers found multiple glass smoking devices containing drug residue, drug-related materials and felony-weight narcotics, police said.

Regan was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminally using drug paraphernalia.
