Overnight structure fire near Fonda, no injuries reported

The Town of Mohawk Fire Department says they responded to a structure fire late Saturday night near the Village of Fonda.
Officials say it happened on State Highway 5, west of Fonda, around 10:23 p.m.
The fire department says upon arrival, it was confirmed that a residence was fully engulfed in a fire.
The house was a total loss, but thankfully there were no injuries reported as the residents were able to escape the home before first responders arrived, said the Mohawk Fire Department.
Authorities say firefighters were on the scene until around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, and were called back to extinguish hotspots just before 9 a.m. and leaving by 10:30 a.m.
