Owners of troubled Saratoga Springs bar facing foreclosure

Gaffney’s facing foreclosure proceedings

Gaffney's facing foreclosure proceedings for failing to make mortgage payments and owing back taxes.

The owners of Gaffney’s bar in Saratoga Springs are facing foreclosure proceedings.

A claim has been filed by John F. Baker and Supreme Cuisine Inc. against Caroline Street Properties LLC and Elfont Saratoga, which owns the property at 16 Caroline St.

The claim alleges that the owners of Gaffney’s have fallen behind on payments toward a $2.45 million mortgage. They missed the March, April and May payments. They also owe nearly $274,000 in property taxes as of April.

Gaffney’s has had a troubled history. It shut down for a period in May 2022 after being linked to several violent incidents. It was fined $70,000 by the New York State Liquor Authority.

The property is for sale for $4.6 million, according to a real estate listing.
