Pair accused of kidnapping Bennington woman over drug debt

Police have arrested two people accused of kidnapping a 30-year-old woman over a drug debt.
Maurice Edwards and Jacquelyn Valdez are facing charges for kidnapping, trespassing and drugs.
Police say the pair kidnapped the woman Monday over a $1,500 debt and said she would be returned if the debt was paid.
Just after 1 a.m. Tuesday, they found the two suspects and the victim on Benmont Avenue.
The two were arrested after they fled into a nearby house.

Police say they also found a large quantity of fentanyl and cocaine.
The men being held without bail and will be back in court on Wednesday at 12:30.
